Eston Amateur Swimming Club are a voluntary organisation committed to the teaching and coaching of young people to achieve their potential and further their passion for swimming. We have expert trained ASA qualified Teacher / Coaches who are committed to the future progress of the club. The pool is 25 metres (short course) and has 6 lanes with a fully integrated Colorado timing system and 6-lane display. Diving blocks are situated at both ends when we require them. We also have a 7x12 metre pool called the Boom and a 5x10 metre pool which we call the small pool. The small pool is where all our youngest swimmers start and gain water confidence. The balcony is excellent for galas with plenty of space to sit or stand and is situated higher than the pool for a great viewing experience, plus with the extra benefit of not getting wet as a swimmer swims along lane 1.
History
The club was formed in 1965, over the years we have had great success in swimming galas and continue to achieve high standards. We are based at Eston Baths, which is part of Eston Sports Academy in Middlesbrough and is easily accessed from all major roads (A19-A66 or A19-A174) across Teesside. The baths were built and opened in 1960 and have been recently refurbished along with a huge extension to the old then separate sports centre and now joins to the baths to create a first class sport facility.
